Climate Activist

Ridhima Pandey is a 16 years old Climate activist based in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. Born on 21st October 2007, she started her activism in 2017 by filing a petition against the government of India for failing to fulfil its promises made during Paris Agreement. In the petition, she stated that the government of India failed to implement its laws on the ground and was only working on paper, not on the ground. 

In 2019 she filed a lawsuit at United Nations with 15 other child petitioners including Greta Thunberg against 5 countries – Argentina, Brazil, France, Turkey, and Germany for violating child rights due to their emissions. The lawsuit was filed to protect the child rights of children all around the world.
