Natalie Mebane is a sustainability and policy expert with years of grassroots organizing, fundraising and campaign experience. She specializes in energy policy and environmental regulations, with a focus on transitioning off fossil fuels. Natalie works to build the legislative and executive will to implement policies that advance environmental justice. She is the co-host of the podcast “Our Future Now”, which educates and mobilizes the public on the most important policy, justice and environmental fights of our time, has been the Chief Program Officer with Zero Hour  since 2018, and was named as one of The Hill’s Top Lobbyists in 2019, 2020 and 2021.   

Natalie was introduced to the power of grassroots organizing after attending the Power Shift Conference in 2007, where she realized that as a new graduate with an environmental degree, it wasn’t enough to know why climate change was the greatest threat to human civilization; but how to organize to combat it. Natalie received training in grassroots organizing and political advocacy from Wellstone Action. As a grassroots organizer, she developed, led and implemented campaigns with communities, to work with the local, state and federal government on coal-fired power plants, climate legislation, and clean energy.  

Her goal is to help build a world with an economy completely powered by clean, sustainable energy that makes all of us more resilient to climate change.
