Collections & Exhibits Specialist
Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI)
Meshelle holds a BSc in Archaeology at the University of Southampton, and MA in Principles of Conservation at UCL. While in school, most of her summer breaks were spent working in the DENR’s Maritime Heritage department with Philippe Rouja, Bermuda’s Custodian of Wrecks diving and excavating shipwrecks, researching and updating shipwreck information, and cataloguing and conserving the artefacts uncovered from various wrecks around Bermuda. She also interned and volunteered with various heritage organizations in the UK. In October 2019 she took part in a yearlong traineeship with National Historic Ships UK, where she learned how to conserve historic vessels and had the opportunity to work at the National Museum of the Royal Navy in Portsmouth. Upon her return to Bermuda, Meshellae joined BUEI as their Collections & Exhibits Specialist in June 2021.
