Forbi Perise is an experienced Youth Program Coordinator skilled in nonprofit organizations, activism, community mobilization, public engagement and communication. Currently a student at the University of Buea in Cameroon, he is popularly known as the “Plastic Man” due to his efforts to raise awareness on the issue of plastic pollution.
His work, which is is centered around connecting, motivating and influencing other youths to care about the ocean and the planet using his experience, continues to be recognized internationally. In 2021, Forbi was selected as a 2021 EE 30 Under 30 by North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE), an award recognizing young leaders using environmental education to spark positive change around the world. He also recently received the Diana Award, which recognizes those who go above and beyond in their daily life to create and sustain positive change. The award is one of the highest accolades a young person can achieve for social action or humanitarian efforts and has the support of both her sons, The Duke of Cambridge and The Duke of Sussex.
