Underwater Photographer
Growing up in Bermuda, Alex was heavily involved in the triathlon where he participated in open water swimming. This led to a love of the water and eventually he became involved in free diving, scuba and underwater photography. Alex undertook internships at BIOS and has assisted at the Living Reefs Foundation. When he left school, Alex spent time traveling and did various dive certifications in Indonesia. This inspired him to pursue a degree in Environmental Science and Economics at the University of Colorado, Boulder. The combination of these disciplines helped him understand the interconnected challenges of environmental issues with the importance of cheap, reliable and clean energy in a world where the majority of people live below the poverty line in developing countries. Motivated by this, Alex is now pursuing a Master’s in Renewable Energy Engineering at the University of Exeter, focusing on developing sustainable energy solutions.
