David Denis is the Founder & CEO of CutOff Recycle Limited, a Tanzanian company turning over 4 tons and counting discarded human hair into organic fertilizers and soil amendment products for farmers across East Africa. The idea began with a simple observation in a school barbershop compound while he was in high school; it later became the subject of his environmental science university dissertation at Ardhi University, and then a company. CutOff Recycle now holds patents in Tanzania and internationally and has been nationally and internationally recognized for this innovation including the Global Student Entrepreneurs Awards. He believes that climate action doesn’t require waiting for permission but just noticing a problem others walk past and starting.
